Role of a Meter Operator: The MOP is responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading electricity meters. They ensure that the meters are functioning correctly and that consumption data is accurately recorded and transmitted to your energy supplier
Mandatory Requirement: If you have a half-hourly meter, you must have a valid MOP contract. If you don’t choose one, your electricity supplier will appoint one on your behalf, which might not be the most cost-effective option
Contract Duration: MOP contracts typically last for 5 years and are a separate cost from your electricity supply.
Cost: The cost of a MOP contract can range per annum, depending on the type of supply, Companies usage, Companies Credit Score, Access and Egress to the site, and Site location.
Data Collection and Aggregation (DC/DA): This is often combined with the MOP contract and covers the collection and transmission of consumption data
